When you’re juggling a move, timing matters. Here’s a realistic guide to how long an end of tenancy clean takes, and how to plan it around your check-out.
Typical timings
Every property is different, but as a rough guide for a property in standard condition:
- Studio or 1 bedroom — around 4–6 hours
- 2 bedrooms — around 6–8 hours
- 3 bedrooms — a full day, sometimes longer
- 4+ bedrooms — often more than a day’s work for one person
When we quote, we give you a realistic estimate based on your property, rather than a number that sounds good on the phone.
What makes it take longer?
- Heavy grease in ovens and on extractor hoods
- Thick limescale — common across Surrey and Sussex because of hard water
- Extra bathrooms — each one adds significant time
- Belongings still in the property — cupboards and floors can’t be cleaned properly until they’re empty
- Pet hair in carpets, on skirting boards and in vents
When should you book?
Ideally, the clean should happen after you’ve moved everything out and before your check-out inspection. The best slot is usually the day before, or the morning of, check-out.
We offer a 24–48 hour turnaround in most cases, and weekend and short-notice slots are often available. If your moving date shifts, just let us know.
What if the check-out finds something?
Tell us within 48 hours and we’ll come back to re-clean it at no cost. That’s our re-clean guarantee on every end of tenancy clean.
